Carlow University is a Catholic, comprehensive master’s university. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1929, the university offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and certificate programs, as well as graduate programs in education, management and technology, nursing, professional leadership, and the humanities. New degree programs include Forensic Accounting, an MS in Fraud and Forensics, an MBA, a DNP, and a PsyD in Professional Counseling.

Located in Pittsburgh’s Oakland area, the heart of the city’s higher education community, the campus is minutes away from world-class health care facilities, cultural attractions, and a vibrant downtown.
Carlow provides continuing education programs especially designed for students seeking flexibility. The university has pioneered the development of a Weekend College—an every-other-weekend degree program for adults. The school also offers an Accelerated Degree Program—an intensive program for eligible adults.

Carlow’s classes are taught by more than 70 full-time and adjunct faculty members who are not only experts in their field, but who also exhibit a primary commitment to teaching and student development. As a leader in educating students for careers of the future, Carlow opened the A. J. Palumbo Hall of Science and Technology in 1999, a 95,000 square-foot facility that is home to the William A. Uricchio Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. It features 14 teaching and research labs, an amphitheater, spacious student lounges, and a greenhouse.
Carlow University celebrated its 80th anniversary during the 2009-2010 academic year, and is proud of its strong commitment to a tradition of excellence—a tradition that provides outstanding programs to support the educational needs of each and every student.
